Heather Ellison Issues Statement on New Mexico Supreme Court Ruling That Another Candidate Cannot Be Placed on the 2026 General Election Ballot

Today, the New Mexico Supreme Court ruled that another candidate cannot be placed on the 2026 General Election ballot. With that decision, I am now officially running unopposed to represent New Mexico House District 4.

I am incredibly grateful for the trust and support our campaign has received throughout this journey. From the very beginning, this campaign has never been about a title, it has been about serving the people and communities I have called home for more than 30 years. Being unopposed does not change that commitment, and it certainly does not mean our work stops here.

We will continue traveling throughout District 4, listening to families, meeting with community leaders, and preparing to be a strong voice for northwestern New Mexico in Santa Fe. I do not take this opportunity or responsibility lightly, and I look forward to earning your trust every single day.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, volunteered, donated, placed a sign in their yard, attended an event, or simply offered a word of encouragement along the way. There is much work ahead, and I am ready to get to work for the people of House District 4.
